Free Soul Vegan Protein Powder Review

If you are a veteran here, you’ve probably read the following statement 20000 times already: I love chocolate. A brand named Free Soul has noticed this unconditional love and offered me to try out their vegan protein powder in chocolate flavor, and it’s pea based. “A pea-based protein powder?” I have never tried protein powders in my life and didn’t know what to expect, but since they have mentioned it’s vegan and it tastes like chocolate– I couldn’t resist.

A couple of days passed by and my Free Soul delivery has arrived. Inside, a beautiful pink pack and chocolatey powder were waiting for me. After my bananas ripened, I made myself a lovely smoothie and added 2 scoops of the powder. My first thought was “oh my, it smells delicious”; and I can say for sure my nose was right. It was absolutely delicious – no artificial flavors or aftertaste, chocolate flavor from natural cocoa, and so many good things inside.

So, after this backstory, let me introduce you to Free Soul and their vegan protein powders.

What is Free Soul?

Free Soul is a nutrition brand based in the UK that caters to the unique nutritional needs of women. They offer products like protein powders, tea and supplement tablets made with the highest quality of ingredients, with no fillers or artificial colorings. While Free Soul isn’t a fully vegan brand, as they offer whey protein powders as well, they do carry an amazing vegan collection!

Free Soul’s story

“When our founder’s father fell sick and suffered a serious health scare, he was inspired by the way in which the strong women in his life used exercise and nutrition to gain strength and energy to support their family during this challenging time. During this time, he noticed that the market for female supplements was missing a positive and empowering brand with quality ingredients that genuinely targets the nutritional needs of women. Concerned with the way that this influenced the females in his family, he became determined to change this space and created Free Soul. The name Free Soul was chosen as our name because it represents a feeling – the feeling of being free of constraints, and the feeling of freedom of choice in any scenario. It represents not being constrained by the constraints of society or one’s self”.

The vegan chocolate protein powder

As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, Free Soul kindly sent me their vegan chocolate protein powder to try out. As you know if you follow me on Instagram, I’m not at all a workout-junkie and have never been to a gym in my life, but protein powder isn’t there just for the purpose of gaining muscle weight or “growing”. While it is possible to get vegan protein simply by eating a balanced vegan diet, it is fun and easy to add it to your morning smoothie- and make it even more delicious and nutritious – plus it ensures you’re getting enough protein in with minimal effort. The Free Soul vegan protein powder is pea & white-hemp based and blended only with natural ingredients, minerals, and adaptogens to target important aspects of female wellness. Inside their Vegan powder, you can find ingredients such as:

Peruvian maca to support hormonal balance (helps PMS, too!); guarana to aid metabolic function; Siberian ginseng as a powerful adaptogen; iron, calcium, and magnesium for energy and bone health; flaxseed for essential omega-3s; L-Carnitine for energy production; and vitamins B1, B3, B6 and B12 for healthy hair, skin, and nails. The high-quality protein blend also provides the building blocks for building lean muscle when used as a post workout protein hit.

My thoughts

After using this powder on a daily basis for more than a week now I can say for sure it affects my energy levels in a positive way, as it contains so many nutritional ingredients. I don’t know yet about hair/skin/nails effectiveness, but I guess we will see in the future! I am very pleased with this product and feel like it is a yummy & healthy treat to start the day with. As a person who’s literally craving chocolate all the time (especially in the morning), I feel like it fulfills the cravings and makes me start my day in a healthy and positive way. It made me take some time for myself in the morning, prepare a nice smoothie and enjoy it! My favorite smoothie is so simple, as I just use 2-3 frozen bananas, 2 scoops of the Free Soul vegan powder, water, and some almond milk. You can use it however you want, even for baking and cooking, of course!

What’s your favorite way to use your protein powder? let me know in the comments.

you can find Free on their website for international shipping, as well as in Boots and Superdrug in the UK.

I’d really recommend checking out their Vegan Protein Powders – especially the chocolate flavor!

I really hope you enjoyed reading this post! Have you tried Free Soul’s vegan products? Let me know!

see you soon,

Noa

  1. I’ve never heard of Peruvian maca, and I loved learning about the ingredient list along with the health benefits of each ingredient. I drink smoothies every day, and I absolutely love taking time to myself each day via this simple routine. I add spinach leaves, peanut butter, oats + cinammon to mine! Free Soul sounds fantastic!! : )

    1. Hi Christina 😊 I did know maca but didn’t like it on its own- in this free soul powder I can’t feel the taste of it which is very good because I can consume it hahahahaha. Your smoothie sounds lovely and delicious 🤤 can I have some!
