Almodóvar Hotel Berlin: The Sustainable, Vegan-Friendly Hotel You Need to Visit

Friedrichshain must be one of the nicest, most creative districts located in the heart of Berlin- so many fashionable stores and nice restaurants, incredible street art creations and great vibes. But what you might not know is that one of the most sustainable hotels in the city is located there, and it is the Almodóvar Hotel Berlin. It is like no other hotel I’ve ever visited, gives you the feeling of home away from home with its cosy atmosphere and has the nicest staff ever (shoutout to the amazing Bianca and the lovely Chloe, who became an actual friend!), but what makes the Almodóvar Hotel so special is the ethics and values of it.

Almodóvar Hotel Berlin: Where Ethics and Aesthetics Meet

The Almodóvar Hotel does a lot for the environment and takes sustainability very seriously- every little detail is taken into consideration, and they make no compromises whatsoever:

“We believe in the individuality of every human being, and at the same time we are firmly convinced that respectful and resource-oriented interaction with one another and with our environment is the key to a successful future. High regard and sustainability form the basis on which we interact with our guests and with our colleagues. At the same time, we know that openness and new, inspiring impressions are important elements of our lives. An exceptional and aesthetically pleasing environment provides a successful setting for this. We therefore welcome you to an environment of individual and organic design, combined with sensual and ethical pleasures”.

In this hotel, you will find only vegetarian and vegan dishes and drinks made exclusively with organic ingredients from regional suppliers and seasonal produce (even their coffee is organic and fair-trade). They don’t have fridges in the rooms and use energy-saving technologies: all the electricity in the hotel is from renewable energy sources. The furniture is made of wood from sustainable forestry and for decor, bedding and bathroom textiles, they use recycled or organically grown natural materials. The cosmetics offered in the hotel are natural and cruelty-free and even their cleaning products are eco-friendly.

Great Style. Great Location.

The first thing that came out of my mouth when I entered the Almodóvar Hotel was “OMG!”- I really liked the cosy feeling and modern design. The lobby had a nice “fireplace” lounge that gives a feeling of warmth, the restaurant is filled with modern, unique decor items and paintings and the rooms look like those dreamy ones from Pinterest- I stayed in their Suite and instantly fell in love- I wish I could just move there (Almodóvar, if you are reading this, please keep a room for me;)).

The Almodóvar hotel has 60 rooms, that are available in various categories, from the well- equipped standard room to the spacious apartment- so whatever you need, you will probably find a room that fits your needs in this epic hotel.

In the hotel’s restaurant, you can enjoy breakfast and brunch from the organic vegan-friendly menu, and after a long day in Berlin, you can relax in the sauna in the wellness and spa area high above the rooftops of Berlin, or enjoy a selection of excellent wines and drinks in the comfortable lobby lounge.

Located in Friedrichshain, Almodóvar Hotel offers excellent connections to all parts of the city and is, therefore, the ideal base for your stay in Berlin, and I’d absolutely recommend you to stay there if you are planning to visit this magical city that I love so much. It’s super close to the vegan supermarket, Veganz, and to many vegan restaurants, too (which is such a fun plus!). If you want to visit Alexanderplatz Square, you will be able to arrive there in 10 minutes from Frankfurter Allee Underground Station.

I absolutely loved the suite I stayed in and woke up early to grab a nice croissant and coffee to go (which was delicious, do not miss it) after a fun evening in the hotel, a warm shower (with cruelty-free, vegan and natural products), enjoying the nice view from the balcony (TV tower, I see you!) and the nicest conversation with Chloe, the nicest hotel receptionist in the world- it was time for me to go back home with heart filled of love and memories.
