Elephants have always been one of my favorite animals: since I was a child, I used to watch movies about them and was obsessed with kids book about elephants. I guess it’s what elephants represent that made me feel attached to them: the strength in softness. They are among the world’s most intelligent, kind, peaceful and emotional creatures and have been known to save others, such as trapped animals or humans and spread endless joy when being surrounded by their friends and family. When FERRON reached out to me to tell me about their brand, my heart instantly got attached to their whole philosophy, inspiration, and logo: which is, of course, the elephant.

About FERRON Vegan Bags
FERRON is a UK based vegan brand creating cruelty-free, ethically made bags. The brand was originally founded in the US and now owned by the lovely Ania Mroz-Pacula, a wonderful, vibrant, lifeful soul (and a great friend) that I got to meet three times during my last visit to London. She’s originally Polish and moved to the UK to study, but fell in love, got married and adopted her adorable dog, Oscar. With the tremendous love for elephants in her heart, Ania didn’t want to just use an elephant as the logo for the brand but also wanted to help them. That’s why, from every bag sold, Ania donates £10 to Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, who operates the world’s most successful orphan-elephant rescue and rehabilitation program. SWT is one of the pioneering conservation organizations for wildlife and habitat protection in East Africa.
“Sheldrick Wildlife Trust embraces all measures that complement the conservation, preservation, and protection of wildlife. These include anti-poaching, safeguarding the natural environment, enhancing community awareness, addressing animal welfare issues, providing veterinary assistance to animals in need, rescuing and hand rearing elephant and rhino orphans, along with other species that can ultimately enjoy a quality of life in wild terms when grown.”

Who made my FERRON bag? Ferron’s Craftsmanship & Materials
FERRON’s handbags come to life thanks to a small, family-owned and professional manufacturer based in Guangzhou, China. “Many countries, including China, are known to have poor working conditions and mass production, and this is so far from what FERRON stands for”, Ania says. “The manufacturer I work with was carefully selected, ensuring fair paid jobs and a great work environment. Each piece is handcrafted by artisans, using the same techniques as major luxury brands. Since FERRON is part of the slow fashion movement, it takes about four months for the bags to be available, allowing craftsmen plenty of time to work”.
As a vegan designer brand, FERRON wanted to create stunning bags of the highest possible quality with animals in mind. Therefore, their bays are made from Polyurethane (PU) and Microfiber that provide the luxury feel of real leather without harming a single animal. The exterior of the bag is structured, yet perfectly imitates the soft feel of pebbled leather that you would expect from a luxury leather bag. The stunning red lining is made out of microfiber, which is durable, yet smooth to the touch.
My Experience With FERRON
I received my FERRON bag a bit more than a month ago and ever since than it became my most-used bag. It’s the only bag I carried around London (apart from days when I needed my laptop): it is so practical and stylish at the same time. Even though it is relatively small, it fits more than I could imagine, thanks to its smart design: one side of the bag has a slip pocket while the other side has 2 compartments separated with a zip pocket, and in one of them, there’s also a handy card slot, that saved me so many times on rush hours on my way to the Tube. The versatility of this bag is such a huge plus, too! you can either wear it crossbody, over your shoulder or simply by holding the handle. The strap is detachable and the stunning red interior makes this bag look (and feel) thousand times more luxurious. This is such a staple bag that I would absolutely recommend you to check out if you need to invest in one, classic, timeless & practical bag.
