It’s been six years since I went vegan and have shopped for exclusively vegan fashion, and almost a year ago, I asked myself where my vegan clothes are coming from and who’s making them: that’s when I started researching and looking for more information about the fast fashion industry, from which I was constantly purchasing. After watching the great documentary “The True Cost” I completely changed my mindset about fashion and consumption and decided to ditch fast fashion for good.
This wasn’t an easy change for me, as someone who literally used to be addicted to shopping, but after two months, I started noticing that this urge to buy disappeared, and was slowly swapped with gratitude towards the clothes I already owned. I have learned a lot about my style, about what works best for me and about what kinds of clothes I’m actually wearing and have come to a point where I feel like my clothes reflect not only my style but also my lifestyle, allowing me to do more with less.
The first few weeks of quitting fast fashion were kind-of tricky, as I didn’t really know a lot about sustainable, ethical brands- but as the weeks went by, with the power of social media, Instagram, bloggers, and Facebook groups- I started educating myself further and got to know more and more amazing ethical brands that I absolutely love, but let me tell you that: it took time, and some of us don’t have it. To make this switch easier and less frustrating, a brand called “MOS Clothing Subscription” comes in handy.
Less Is More: Meet MOS
MOS is an Italy-based vegan, ethical and sustainable clothing subscription service. The owner of Mos, Roberta, started her journey of ethical consumerism while she was already vegan (just like me!): “I was already vegan when I started asking myself where my clothes came from, therefore I already followed a lot of people that only brought vintage or ethical clothing, basically, I already knew where to start”.
Later on, after trying to find ethical, vegan and sustainable brands herself, Roberta got a bit overwhelmed and frustrated: “It all started when I realized how frustrating it can be to shop ethically. It takes a lot of research to find trustworthy brands and it’s so easy to fall prey of greenwashing. I thought that for someone who is completely new to sustainability it can be so overwhelming. So I thought that it would be a good idea to create a company that can make people’s journey so much easier”.
After a lot of hard work and effort, Roberta opened MOS, in order to make slow fashion more accessible: her brand offers a personalized and sustainable capsule wardrobe that will last a lifetime while taking away the effort and time from your shoulders. With MOS, you can be sure that you’re getting high quality, made in Italy clothes that will suit both your ethics and style.
MOS Subscription Box’s Ethics
Vegan & Cruelty-Free
“Fashion doesn’t have to be cruel to look cruel”
MOS loves and cares about animals and believes that there’s no need to hurt any living beings for fashion- their team (aka a vegan power couple) is a 100% vegan, so are their suppliers: that’s why you can be sure 100% of the items sold and recommended by MOS are completely vegan and animal-friendly.
Ethically Made in Fair Conditions
All the items sold by MOS are either ethically made in beautiful Italy (you know it’s my favorite country, don’t you?). “Made in Italy” isn’t just a label- it is a symbol of ethics, quality, tradition, and craftsmanship. You can be sure that the working conditions in Italy are granted by the current legislation and companies are able to directly control the real working conditions. For the capsule wardrobe service, MOS select items by many fair-trade and sustainable brands from all over the world that manufactures their clothes ethically in various countries, for example, People Tree, Armed Angles, Reformation and Matter.
Eco-Friendly, Sustainable and High Quality
“We make sure our products are so high quality that they could last a lifetime and may even be passed down from one generation to the next”.
MOS offers beautiful pieces made of natural, eco-sustainable and organic-certified, high-quality fabrics. Each and every single item sold by MOS is carefully selected to make sure it will last a lifetime. When buying from MOS, you can be sure that you get exactly what you pay for.
Eco-Friendly Warehouse & Packaging
MOS’s warehouse is super eco-friendly: they use LED lighting and most of their furniture is thrifted, the remaining part is made in Italy and made of natural materials such as wood or recyclable ones like steel. Apart from that, they use organic, cruelty-free cleaning products, recycled pens and paper and they always recycle. Their packaging is plastic-free and made from 100% recycled paper products.

“For our Capsule Wardrobes, we choose vegan pieces from dozens of ethical brands from all over the word to create wardrobes that people will truly love for many years, not only because they are high-quality but because they reflect their style and personality”

I really enjoyed the survey, it was easy, fun and made think about my style and needs- I highly recommend anyone to take it, whether you’re interested in a capsule wardrobe or not. In the survey, I mentioned that my style is Elegant yet effortless, that I love the Parisian style, prefer opened necklines, in a need for a black backpack and living an urban lifestyle in a very warm country.
